7) Club Feedback Report & Member Discussion
Club Feedback report run through. Mostly positive feedback in all areas (satisfied to very satisfied).
Club Play:
Feedback received to increase to 3hrs on weekdays, an earlier poll didn’t show much interest and noted playing from 6pm or until 10pm on a weekday is difficult for most people. Feedback received that Club sessions on weekend at 1-4PM is an awkward time. Discussed that it was to be able to get more than 6 courts if playing 10-1 on Saturdays, more consistency in playing as almost 60% of Saturday sessions would be cancelled over Winter due to tournaments. A poll to be put out later in year on club play as courts need to be booked for next year in October. Any bad behavior to be notified to Committee so action can be taken, there is no place for it in Auckland Feathers.
Grading:
Grade mixing to be investigated and publicly stated on the website that we are a social club and to be mindful of behaviour when on court and for stronger players to help improve the others.
Social Events:
Social events to be more varied, less involving alcohol. Focus on inclusivity and make groups of people to introduce new people to each other and try to be less cliquey. A monthly social calendar to be announced well ahead of time, any feedback always welcome. Put to all members to introduce themselves to new people at play sessions.
Tournaments:
Tournament grading to be stricter, grades to be enforced by Committee. Mixed grade pairs will always be placed in the higher grade. All entrants grades will have to be confirmed prior to tournament.
8) Life Membership Awards
The first Auckland Feathers Life Membership Award to be given to someone who truly shaped Feathers into the Club that it is today and would not be the same without him. Lifetime Membership awarded to the former President, Club Captain, and General Committee Member: Jeffrey Wu
